Cost-of-Living Allowance

Wage increases will equal the rise of the inflation rate, based on the increase in the Vancouver Consumer Price Index (1992=100) from March 2011 to March 2012, triggered at 2.0% and folded into monthly rates on October 1, 2012 (previous formula, which was similar, failed to generate an adjustment).

Paid Vacation

2 weeks earned at 4.0% after 1 year, 3 at 6.0% after 2, 4 at 8.0% after 7, 5 at 10.0% after 15, and 6 at 12.0% after 22 (unchanged). An additional 2.0% of gross earnings after 30 years’ service and in each succeeding year (unchanged).

Job Security

Enabling Clause (new addition): A Letter of Understanding stipulates that the parties may, on a commercial contract-by-contract basis, amend the terms of the agreement if it is agreed that such an effort is necessary to obtain more work or retain current work. This Letter of Understanding will expire at the end of the collective agreement.
