Performance pay and career progression

Salary increases of all employees will be administered based on performance. Salaries will be examined at each pay scale review on the date that the new wage schedules take effect.

The amounts of performance pay for July 2012 will be based on 50% of the career progression performance pays schedule; amounts for 2013 to 2015 will be determined on the basis of performance notes and the employee’s career progression performance pay schedule.

1.6% (0.8% July 2012) for expenses related to bargaining unit performance with regard to merit increases. The grid used must balance expenses lower than 1.4% (0.7% July 2012) or higher than 1.8% (0.9% July 2012) to include all expenses in this range.

In 2016, the performance increase will be applied in accordance with the following percentages: 1.5% for bargaining unit performance expenses. The grid used must balance expenses lower than 1.3% or higher than 1.7% to include all expenses within this range.

The distribution of increases is based on the following breakdown: developmental needs, 2%; meets expectations most of the time, 10%; successfully meets expectations, 63%; consistently exceeds expectations, 20% and far exceeds expectations, 5%.
