Substitute Teacher
Daily Rates *:
Classes I – III: $138 ($135); September 1, 2012 – $141; and, September 1, 2013 – $144.
Classes IV – VII: $164 ($161); September 1, 2012 – $167; and, September 1, 2013 – $171.
* includes vacation pay.
A substitute teacher who assumes the teaching workload of a teacher for 5 (6) consecutive days will be paid as per the teachers’ salary scale, retroactive to the first day of the assignment.
Retirement Allowance (new addition)
$12,000, applicable solely for the first 40 teachers who opt to retire during or immediately following the 2011/12 school year.
Use of Term Contracts
A full- or part-time teacher under limited term contract for 180 days who obtains a permanent contract for the following school year is entitled to seniority and sick leave retroactive to the initial date of hire (new addition).
Interest on Retro Pay
In lieu of interest on retro pay, Louis Riel School Division will contribute $500 to the charity of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society’s choice.
Leave of Absence
Personal: Increased to 2 (1) paid personal days per year.
Union: President of local is eligible for leave of either 50% or 100% of the teacher’s assignment in each school year (new addition). Association will reimburse the Division for applicable salary, allowances, benefits and other costs related to the release time.
