Hours of Work

37.5 hours per week (unchanged).

Shift Premium

$1.05 ($1.00) per hour for hours worked between 15:00 and 07:00 hours; October 11, 2010, $1.10.

Weekend Premium

$1.05 ($1.00) per hour; October 11, 2010, $1.10.

Paid Vacation

6 weeks earned after 21 (22) years. Also, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 after 2, 4 after 5, 5 after 13, and 7 after 28 (unchanged).

Part-Time: Entitled to 4.0% of gross earnings for less than 3,450 hours of continuous service, 6.0% for 3,450 hours but less than 8,625 hours; 8.0% for 8,625 hours but less than 22,425 hours; 10.0% for 22,425 hours but less than 37,950 hours; 12.0% for 37,950 hours but less than 48,300 hours; 14.0% for more than 48,300 hours (unchanged).

Health and Welfare

Vision Care: $250 ($200) every 24 months.

Bereavement Leave

In order to accommodate different religious and cultural differences, employees will be entitled to distribute leave over a period of 2 occasions (new addition).

Reservist Leave (new addition)

Unpaid leave of absence without loss of seniority for deployment to a Canadian Forces operation.

Layoff

Recall rights of a laid off employees will be maintained for 48 (24) months.

Pandemic Planning (new addition)

In order to prevent spread of infection, employees working at different health locations will notify the hospital, upon request.

Letter of Understanding—Extended Shift Arrangement (new addition)

Extended shifts arrangements of 10 hours and 12 hours may be implemented under the following terms and conditions, subject to the approval of the Hospital.

All eligible regular Full-time and regular Part-time staff on a unit/department affected by the extended shift arrangement will be given an opportunity to vote on the proposed schedule. The parties will jointly supervise such vote, which shall be held by secret ballot. Where 75% of those employees eligible to vote have voted in favour of extended shifts, the new schedule will be implemented on a six-month trial basis and will be reviewed by both parties.
