Cost-of-Living Allowance

In the third and fourth year of the agreement, an amount equal to the annual percentage increase in the Ontario Consumer price index, 1992=100, triggered at 2.0% and 2.5%, respectively. The first calculation January 2017 for the period of January to December 2016; the second, January 2018 for the period of January to December 2017. Any amount generated will be paid in lump-sum form on December 31st of each year. The amounts would also be folded into wage schedules on December 31, 2016 and 2017 [previously generation did not generate an amount].

Hours of Work

35, 37.5, or 40 hours per week [unchanged].

Shift Premium

10-hour shift, effective January 1, 2016, 0¢-$1.20 [0¢-$1.10] per hour.

12-hour shift, effective January 1, 2016, 0¢-$1.60 [0¢-$1.45] per hour.

Paid Holidays

11 days, plus 3 floating holidays [unchanged]. Employees who are serving or have served in the Canadian Armed Forces including those currently active in the reserves are entitled to an additional day for Remembrance Day [unchanged].

Paid Vacation

2 weeks earned after 1 year, 3 after 3, 4 after 8, 5 after 16, and 6 after 25. Also, upon eligibility for 5 weeks vacation, employees will have the option of banking up to 2 weeks vacation entitlement per year of vacation time to a maximum of 30 weeks, to be used preceding early retirement [unchanged].

Vacation Bonus: Between 1 and 10 days pay between the 26 and 35 years of service, may be banked, to a maximum of 6 weeks, to be used towards early retirement [unchanged].

Health and Welfare

Deductibles: Effective January 1, 2014, health insurance plans will have no deductible for 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 [new addition].

Vision Care: Prescription safety glasses now qualify within the amount allotted under Vision care [new addition].

Licensed Practitioner: Coverage to now include Nurse Practitioner [new addition].

Wellness program: Effective October 1, 2014, $45,000 for union provided wellness programs [new addition].

Pension Plan

Employee/Employer Contributions: Effective January 1, 2014, 5.0%/7.0% [4.5%/6.5%]; January 1, 2015, 5.5%/7.5%.

Job Security

No Layoff Guarantee: No involuntary layoff of regular employees [previously no layoff of any employee].

Labour-Management Committee

Over the Counter Drug Plan [new addition]: To be established to review the overall process related to Over the County drugs and Natural Health Products.
