Call-Back Pay

Call back includes the internet, text messages; emails, or other electronic messaging that requires an immediate response or action (new addition).

Reporting Pay (new addition)

Effective January 1, 2013, casual employees will be entitled to 3.5 hours pay should a shift be cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. Casual employees will be compensated for the hours they are scheduled to work, maximum 3.5 hours pay where the length of shift is shortened.

Paid Vacation

Effective January 1, 2013, 4 weeks earned after 6 (7) years. Also, 3 after 1; 5 after 17, 6 after 23, and 7 after 30 (unchanged); December 31, 2013, 4 after 5.

Health and Welfare

Retiree Benefits: Optional enhanced plan to be available for employees 55-65 of age (new addition).

Post 65 Employment: Full-time Employees age 69 or older and employed with the City for more than 2 years will receive 4.0% in lieu of benefits (new addition).

Professional Services: Medical prescription every 12 consecutive calendar months for reimbursement of massage therapy (new addition). Also, dietician services to be added to paramedical services (new addition).

Medical Certification: Required within the first 15 (14) days and every 25 (20) days thereafter.

Allowances

Vehicle: Effective August 1, 2012, 52¢ (50¢) per kilometre; travel outside the boundaries of City of Ottawa, 49¢ (47¢) per kilometre; January 1, 2013, 53¢ and 50¢.

Professional Fees: 50% reimbursement for all permanent part-time employees (employees less than 14 hours, 25%).

Responsibility: $1.75 ($1.60) per hour for Long Term Care Nurses.

Replacement: $1.50 ($1.30) per hour for Long Term Care Nurses.

Special Leave

Caregiving for aging parents added to list of reasons for the use of this leave (new addition).
