Allowances
Retirement: Effective March 31, 2016, allowance is discontinued for those with a continuous service date falling on or after this date [new addition]. Any employee with continuous service falling before March 31, 2016 may receive an immediate lump sum payment based on the employee’s full years of continuous service either immediately or on their retirement [new addition].
Layoff [new addition]: the employer shall pay such an employee a layoff allowance equal to 5 days’ pay for each full year of continuous service but not exceeding 125 days’. The accumulation of service for the purpose of calculating a layoff allowance shall continue after March 31, 2016 for all employees.
Bereavement Leave
Two consecutive [new addition] days in the event of death of employee’s aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew.
