From June 1, 2012 to May 31, 2016, hourly rates shall increase according to the cost of living adjustment, based on the index covering the last 12 months, ending May 31.

Employee Benefits
Employer’s contribution to the Seafarers’ Medical Plan: $7.70 per job per payday, effective June 1, 2011. This figure shall increase by $0.20 on June 1 every subsequent year (new additions).
Allowances and Compensation
Safety shoes: $155 ($140) per year
Excess baggage: $100 ($75) per season, upon presentation of supporting documents.
Personal vehicle use: $0.46 ($0.40) per kilometre, if no public transportation is available and employees are required to use their own vehicles
Transportation: permanent employees hired following the ratification date of this collective agreement shall be responsible for their own transportation from their residence to the nearest airport, effective once they return to the ship. Transportation costs from the airport to the ship shall be covered by the employer. The employer shall cover transportation costs from the ship to the airport closest to the employee’s residence, effective once the employee leaves the ship (new additions).
Commissary Department: On ships where people other than crew members, family of crew members, members of the mobile service team, and company or union executives are legally transported on board, the employer pays $11.30 ($11) per day per person. In port, when meals are served to people other than crew members, family of crew members, members of the mobile service team, and company or union executives, the employer shall pay $5.30 ($5) per meal. The amounts allotted for such activities must be evenly distributed among Commissary staff.
Maritime disaster: up to $4,000 ($3,500) when an employee loses clothing or other personal belongings as a result of a maritime disaster or a shipwreck.
Union Hiring
As of June 11, 2011 the employer pays $6.40 per employee per payday into the union hiring fund. This amount shall increase by $0.05 on June 1 every subsequent year (new additions).
Labour-Management Committees
Commissary management: the parties agree to create a committee to promote productivity and ensure consistency of the work performed by commissary staff fleet-wide (new addition).
Electronic communications: the parties agree to meet over the course of the present collective agreement in order to examine the possibility of granting wireless internet access rights to unlicensed crew members (new addition).
Allowances for meals and room accommodation: the parties agree to meet during the 3rd year of the collective agreement to assess what should be covered for meals and room accommodation (new addition).
