Signing Bonus

$10,000, payable June 1, 2012, to all regular, full-time employees, including those on Long Term Disability, sick leave or Workers Compensation Board. Special Assignment employees on payroll as of June 1, 2012 will receive a pro-rated amount based on hours worked between June 1, 2011, and May 31, 2012. The lump-sum payment may be immediately transferred to an employee’s RRSP.

Cost-of-Living Allowance

Inactive (previous formula failed to generate an adjustment).

Hours of Work

40 hours per week (unchanged).

Paid Holidays

Effective February 2013, Family Day added for a total of 10 (9) designated days plus 3 floating holidays.

Paid Vacation

2 weeks earned after 1 year, 3 after 2, 4 after 8, 5 after 18, and 6 after 28 (unchanged).

Health and Welfare

Long Term Disability Plan: Rates will be adjusted on June 1st of each year by the same percentage as is applied to wages rates (new addition).

Dental Plan: Coverage expanded to include white composite fillings and implant procedures equivalent to full cost of a Bridge (both new addtions). Employer will provide option for future retirees to purchase Dental Plan A from an insurance carrier (new addition).

Vision Care: $300 ($250) every 2 calendar years; amount may be carried over to a maximum of $600 ($500) if not used in the first two years. Coverage now includes dependent children to age 25 if enrolled in an educational institution (limited to dependent children under the age of 21).

Pension Plan

Basic Benefit Per Month Per Year of Service: $70 ($66); June 1, 2013, $72; June 1, 2014, $74; June 1, 2015, $76; and, June 1, 2016, $78.

Supplemental Benefit Per Month Per Year of Service: $25.00, payable to age 65 (unchanged).

Retirement Allowance: $1,000 if employee provides 6 months’ written notice of retirement; $1,500 for providing 9 months’ written notice; and, $2,000 for providing 1 year’s written notice.

Allowances

Chronic Care: $10.50 ($8.50) per day.

Bereavement Leave

Maximum paid leave increased to 40 (24) hours. Coverage extended to include Special Assignment employees (new addition).
