Service Pay

Hours of Work

35 to 40 hours per week [unchanged].

Shift Premium

$412.50 per year for employees working on a 12 hour schedule [new addition]. Also, $500 [$450] per year for employees working for a full year on a 3-shift rotation basis; $300 [$275] per year on a 2-shift rotation.

Paid Holidays

12 days, plus 1 floating day [unchanged].

Paid Vacation

Effective January 1, 2011, 144 hours earned after 5 years [new addition], 240 after 20 [21], and 280 after 25 [27]. Also, 80 after 1, 120 after 3, 160 after 10, and 200 after 15 [unchanged].

After 30 years of service employees accrue 8 hours of vacation for each year beyond 30 to a maximum of 320 hours [new addition].

Health and Welfare

Vision Care: $350 [$300] every 24 months.

Hearing Aid: $450 [$300] every 36 months.

Drug Plan: $8.00 [$6.50] dispensing fee cap; January 1, 2014, $10.

Paramedical: $80 [$70] per visit, maximum of $650 [$500] per year, to include dieticians [new addition].

Health Spending Account: Effective January 1, 2012, $350 [$325] per employee, per year, not cumulative from year to year; January 1, 2014, $375.

Retiree Health Spending Account: Effective January 1, 2011, maximum $3,250 [$3,000] per year, expiring at age 75.

Allowances

Training: 5.0% [4.0%] of salary rate, when assigned as a Coach Officer.

Travel: $10 [$7.50] per diem allowance and for employees attending the Ontario Police College at Aylmer, Ontario will receive $50 [$37.50] per week.

Military Leave [new addition]

Employee who is a member of the Canadian Forces Reserves will be granted leave for the purpose of military training, course attendance, and/or for participation in an operational mission or United Nations peacekeeping tour of duty without loss of seniority.

Sick Leave

Coordination of casual sick time for use as family care hours when both employees are members of the Peel Police [new addition].

Labour-Management Committee

Long-Term Disability [new addition]: To be established to discuss the issue of Consumer Price Index adjustments for employees on long term disability claims prior to January 1, 2008 and who continue to be on disability.
