Cost-of-Living Allowance

An amount equal to 1¢ per 0.061 point increase in the 3-month average Canada CPI, 2002=100, commencing in October 2014 by comparing the average for June, July and August 2014, with that of the previous quarter, amount to be folded into wage rates at the end of contract [previous formula generated an adjustment of 91¢, with a continual float of .06¢].

Lump-Sum Payment

$5,000 for all employees actively at work as of January 19, 2013 and for those on an authorized leave of absence as of January 19, 2013 and return to work before January 18, 2014.

Hours of Work

40 hours per week [unchanged].

Paid Holidays

42 days over the life of the agreement. Paid holidays vary according to Christmas shutdown period and whether or not Remembrance Day falls on a week day [unchanged].

Paid Vacation

2 weeks earned after 1 year, 3 after 5, and 4 after 10 [unchanged].

Health and Welfare

Vision Care Plan: Eye exam coverage increases to $80 [$75]

Acupuncture: Effective January 1, 2015 will increase $325 [$300]

Medical Reports: Effective January 1, 2016 the benefit for medical documentation will increase to $70 [$60]

Pension Plan

Basic Benefit Per Month Per Year of Service: Effective January 1, 2014, the accrued benefit will be $72 [$63] per month for each year credited future service on or after January 1, 1991, for all active employees.

Registered Retirement Savings Plan [new addition]: Permanent employees hired or rehired on or after June 11, 2018 and having satisfied the eligibility period will be eligible to participate in the Registered Retirement Savings Plan. Each pay period the Company will contribute 100% of the first 6% that the employee contributes. An employee will be considered rehired if the employee returns to work after layoff and the return date is more than 5 years after the date of layoff.
